The EM series (EM = Einhets Minen, "Unity Mine" or Elektrische Minen, "Electrical Mine") moored contact mines were a serie of 13 types of sea mines.

The EMC mines had 1.12 meters in diameter, a charge of 300 kg. of mino, TNT or amatol. This mines could be moored in 55, 109, 164 or 273 fathoms). When a ship or submarine made contact with the horns, named Hertz horns, the detonation was triggered.
